The response of European Citizens to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Treaty (TTIP) with the United States has been an outright no. The reasons for opposing the treaty touch the very heart of democracy and sustainability. As regards food, the agreement seeks to favor transatlantic trade by harmonizing European and US regulations, at present very different. But what are the possible impacts on our food of a treaty discussed behind closed doors?
