What would the Alps look like without pastures? Landscapes, cultures, economy and tourism: the Alpine region is inextricably linked to farming yet its products are not always adequately appreciated. So what is the future for this business? Is it possible to imagine a pact between institutions, municipalities and herdsmen to overcome certain obstacles? What elements can help to ensure effective partnerships and how can we adequately promote the products of Alpine farming? We speak to mayors, farmers and the Regional Minister for Agriculture for Piedmont, Giorgio Ferrero.
