Turin born Fulvio Piccinino, born 1967, is one of the foremost experts in the study of marketable goods, specifically the beverage sector, in addition to being a scholar of the history of Italian alcoholic beverages. He will guide you through a technical and cultural exploration of the world of drinks, starting from the very beginning, then delving into production methods and classifications. From wine and beer as excipients of ancient medicine, to the discovery of distillation as Arab and Occidental alchemy; from modern history of homemade remedies and industrial cures, to the first medicinal herbal infusions in the Middle Ages; to the luxury beverages of the Renaissance, to vermouths and bitters, all culminating in the mixology of the early 20th century and modern biological uses. History has never been so captivating!
